GAMEPLAY
Most of the gameplay systems carried from the previous Melty Blood games depicted in original timeline, with the exception of Guard Meter and Moon Styles.
These new mechanics are:
Rapid Beat: Auto-combo which allows players to execute combinations with repeated presses of an attack button. However, once a same button is pressed while using this mechanic, the third chain combo will immediately to a Launcher while on the ground and an air throw in the air, as well as unable to perform Reverse Beat.
New Moon Systems:
Moon Skills: Very powerful special moves that can be unleashed by consuming the Moon Icons that appear next to the life gauge. These deal greater damage than regular special moves, and are not only powerful but easy to activate with simple controls using combinations of the directional buttons and attack buttons.
Moon Drive: a Chain Shift/Roman Cancel/Overdrive-based power-up that can be activated by using all of Moon Icons any time with more than one half full. It temporarily boosts Moon Skill, increases Magic Circuit or number of possible Jumps/Dashes, as well as providing various other effects.
Additionally, Last Arc move mechanic has been updated and received an alternative option: Some old characters’ Last Arc moves have been reworked into Instant Kill-like sequences; Instead of requiring an EX Shielding, Last Arc moves can now be accessed as combo ender through a new option normally, similar to Infinite Worth EXS mechanic from Under Night In-Birth, but without a requirement to be at low health.
